Student Drop off information
Students being dropped off by a parent at the Middle School in the morning should NOT be dropped off before 7:00 am. The student drop off is located in the main parking lot. Please do not come into the bus circle to drop off students.
Student Pick up information
Students being picked up by a parent at the Middle School at the end of the day should bring in a note from their parent(s). Students can pick up a car pass in the Middle School office at the end of the day and turn it in to a teacher that is on bus duty in the lobby. The teacher will then allow the student to exit the building to the parent pick up location in the main parking lot. Please do not come into the bus circle to pick up students.
Important message concerning attendance
Students should bring in a written excuse within 3 days of an absence. The written excuse should contain the following information:
1. Student’s name (first and last)
2. Date of the absence(s)
3. Reason for the absence(s)
4. Parent/Guardian Signature
Absences not documented by a written excuse within 3 days of the absence will be marked unlawful.
Activity Bus Information
Students needing to ride on the Activity Bus must sign up on the pink sign up sheet that is posted on the Middle School Office window by 12:30 pm. When signing up, students should mark HS behind their name if they need a ride home on the Activity Bus after an activity at the High School. Students not marking HS behind their name will be scheduled to ride home from the Middle School. Students will be dropped off by the activity bus at their PM bus stop location.
Work Sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45 – 4:15 pm. You must have a new work session permission form signed for each week that you will be staying. Permission forms are available on the office counter.
The UDA Middle School Fitness room will be open to students after school on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45 – 4:15 pm. You must have a new fitness room permission form signed for each week that you will be staying. Permission forms are available on the office counter.
Emergency Notification System
Attention! Due to new FCC regulations the District distributed a form to be completed by any employee, parent, or guardian who wishes to receive emergency calls for delays and cancellations. If you do not submit a form, you will not receive emergency calls.
Policy Change – Revision to 2016-2017 Handbook
Video/Audio Recording – The use of video and audio recording equipment supports efforts to maintain discipline and to ensure the safety and security of all students, staff, contractors and others being transported on district-owned, operated, or contracted school buses or school vehicles. Each school bus and vehicle equipped with video and audio recording equipment is clearly marked. On the bus, students must expect that their conduct will be monitored and recorded both to and from school according to Policy 810.2. Transportation – Video/Audio Recording.
Patriot’s Pen Essay Winners
The Gratz Diamond Jubilee Post No. 2385 Veterans of Foreign Wars sponsored the recent Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest at the Upper Dauphin Area Middle School. The winners were Collin Miller, first place; Owen Mattern, second place; and Eileen Nestor, third place. The students wrote essays on the theme “The America I Believe In”.
