The mission of the Special Education and Student Services Department at Upper Dauphin School District is to build programs specifically tailored to meet the needs of our students, while providing a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). Both regular and special education students receive high quality instruction that is research based and scientifically validated. It is designed to address academic needs while at the same time facilitate their social and emotional development, with a goal of becoming lifelong learners.
If you have any questions and/or concerns regarding your child’s education, please contact the classroom teacher first. Questions concerning evaluations will be addressed first with regular education high quality instruction, then Response to Intervention and Instruction, and then an evaluation when all other possible causes have been ruled out. Please feel free to contact Heather Haupt or Jodi Stroup if you have any questions.
