Two Hour Delay w/ Modified Kindergarten
Monday, February 8, 2010

Due to the current weather conditions, the Upper Dauphin Area School District will be operating on a two hour delay with modified Kindergarten.
 
Feb. 22nd Parent/Teacher Conferences
We would like to extend an invitation for you to meet privately with the grade level team to discuss your child's progress. Conferences provide an opportunity for you to ask questions and talk with the teachers about how your child is doing in school. Conferences will be held in 15-minute intervals from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, February 22nd. Please call the middle school office at 362-6563 from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm to make a conference appointment. If you would like a 'specials' teacher to attend your conference, please request this when calling for an appointment. You may also schedule appointments with Emily Butler, Guidance Counselor or Abbey Walshaw-Wertz, Middle School Principal.
 
Fundraiser Pick Up Date Change
The Middle School PTO's fundraiser pick up date has been changed from Friday, March 26th to Thursday, March 25th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Please mark your calendars with that change.
 
High School Bullying Survey
Dear Parent/Guardian,
In an effort to assess school safety issues we are hereby requesting that you encourage your child to complete an online bullying survey. The survey is anonymous and does not require names or email addresses. We will utilize the results of the survey to implement any needed educational bullying programs.

1. Students should visit www.reportbullying.com and in the upper right corner (Student Bullying Survey) click on drop down menu, find Upper Dauphin High School.

2. Type in school/student password - uda

Thank you for your cooperation. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the survey. The deadline for survey completion is February 15, 2010.

MS Spring PTO Fundraiser
The annual spring fundraiser will begin Friday, January 29th and end on Tuesday, February 16th. The
PTO is selling Wolfgang Candy, Wolfgang Flower Bulbs and Seeds, UDA Spiritwear, and R&K Pretzel Sandwiches. These sales are used toward class trips, assemblies and other PTO sponsored activities. Your support is appreicated. If you have questions, please call Kris Wilkinson at 365-3822.

Please note that the date for pick up for the items sold has been changed to Thursday, March 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. at the Middle School.

 
NJHS Collecting Items for Haiti
After their recent meeting, the National Junior Honor Society expressed a desire to help the people of Haiti after their devastating earthquake. A Haiti Relief Fund to help meet some of the immediate needs has been established and we would like to help this cause by collecting emergency items.

Here is the list of items needed: Topical antibiotic creams, protein bars, nutrition bars, peanut butter, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, gauze pads, bandages.

These items cannot be out of date or in glass containers.

A box will be placed outside the middle school office for donations through February 19th.

MS PTO Fundraiser
The Middle School PTO fundraiser information is going home today, Friday, January 29th. Remember that these sales help the PTO with the cost of your field trips and other activities. Also, students that participate in this fundraiser will receive extra recess time.
 
PTAC Sandwich Fundraiser
The Parent Teacher Advisory Council at the high school is holding a sub and pretzel sandwich sale to raise money to help support the SADD Fashion Show, Senior Citizen Luncheon, THON, HS Open House and 8th Grade Orientation, as well as scholarships for graduating seniors. Order forms are available in the office and are due along with money on Friday, Feb. 12 Sandwiches can be picked up on Wednesday, Feb. 24. Questions regarding this sale should be addressed to Barb Schade at 979-9229.
