| BOOK FAIR |
| | The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the Middle School Library on September 5th. All classes will
have the chance to attend the Fair during school hours.
The Fair will be open to parents the evening of the Middle School Open House on Wednesday September
10th. Hours will be 7-8:30 pm. Christmas is just around the corner and books make great Christmas gifts. Hope to see you there. |

| State Posts PSSA Exam Dates |
| | After some confusion and changes, the Pa Dept of Education (PDE) has posted the scheduled exam dates for the PSSAs for the 2008-2009 school year.
October 20-31, 2008--12th Grade Retest for Math, Reading, & Writing
February 9-20, 2009--5th, 8th, & 11th Grade Writing Assessment
March 16-27, 2009--3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, & 11th Grade Math & Reading Assessment
April 27-May 8, 2009--4th, 8th, & 11th Grade Science Assessment

| | Drivers Ed Classes will be starting on September 10th. Anyone interested in classroom instruction can still sign up. Applications are available in the high school office. |

| | You are invited to the Upper Dauphin Area Middle School Open House on Wednesday, September 10th, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Stop by to stroll the halls, visit classrooms, and see what your child has been learning in school.

| OUT-OF-DATE HEALTH TEXTBOOKS |
| | The Upper Dauphin Area Middle School has available out-of-date health textbooks.Interested students will be allowed to have one (1) copy for their
personal use. If you would like your child to have one of these health textbooks, please have your child come to the middle school office and pick up a copy by September 19th. |

Our guest speakers include Lora Nestor and Fred Hanosky, who will be discussing the role and services of our guidance department. Mr. Scott Campbell, our new school principal, will tell us a little more about himself and his goals for our school. We will finish the evening with dessert and coffee. Mark your calendars.
